The Earth Doesn't Need Us
In the upper half of the hourglass, humanity burns. Cities collapse into smoke, a sinkhole swallows everything we ever built — slowly, inevitably, without drama. It all falls through the narrow neck of time and emerges below as something else entirely: a volcano, raw and alive, the earth reclaiming what was always hers.
The lower half is full of colour. Full of life. Unbothered.
The hourglass is not counting down to the end of the world. It is counting down to the end of us — and the world doesn't notice the difference. The planet has survived mass extinctions, asteroid impacts, ice ages. It will survive us too. This piece is not a warning. It is a perspective. Zoom out far enough and human civilisation is just one more thing that passed through. The earth keeps spinning. The flowers keep growing. The cosmos watches, as it always has, with complete indifference.
